Recent Projects

Our recent experience has included:

• A detailed assessment of the heritage value of part of the 'Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape' World Heritage Site and an assessment of the potential impact of development of a supermarket at various locations on the significance of the local historic environment.
  
• A heritage assessment of a dockyard site on the River Torridge on behalf of a residential developer, following notification by English Heritage of its intention to assess the site for potential listing.
  
• Urgent works surveys of 11 listed redundant mills and associated buildings in the Weaver's Triangle area of Burnley, commissioned by Burnley Metropolitan Borough Council through architects, BDP, and partly funded by English Heritage.
  
• An extensive programme of specialist condition survey work on the Grade I listed Manchester Town Hall and the adjoining Grade II* 1930s Town Hall Extension and Central Library for Manchester City Council.
• Completion of the final report for the Heritage Lottery Fund on a three year research project into the conservation outcomes of its investment in the Heritage Grants programme (click here to download).
• Completion of 'Accredited conservation professional' services for the National Trust at Saltram House in Devon.
• Provision of day long training programmes on conservation management plans and World Heritage Sites for Oxford University Department for Continuing Education in partnership with English Heritage as part of the 'Professional Training in the Historic Environment' series.
• Development and provision of a programme of capacity building training for managers of the Dutch Fort at Galle and other World Heritage Sites in Sri Lanka on behalf of UNESCO and funded by the Netherlands Funds in Trust.
